Discover Trapani, on the north-west of Sicily. We will stop at the Saline nature reserve where we will see windmills used to move water from one tank to another, and to grind salt. We will then visit Trapani to observe the beautiful buildings and churches from the Baroque period, as well as the city’s Cathedral and the piazza in the historic center where the fish market used to take place. We will have lunch in the lovely town of Erice, a small medieval borgo with winding streets, located atop a mountain. Next, we will go to Segesta to explore the magnificent Doric style Greek temple that rises out of the hills.

A short walk from the historic center of Agrigento you can explore one of the most significant examples of Greek culture and art: The Valley of the Temples, the ancient Akragas, declared by UNESCO "World Heritage".
Among the main temples you can admire that of Hercules, built at the end of the sixth century BC; the Temple of Concord that, together with the Parthenon, has kept intact all its ancient charm; the Temple of Juno, the Temple of Zeus and, again, the area of the Agorà.

Discover the city of Palermo, with the wonderful Arab-Norman Cathedral, the Norman Palace - seat of the Sicilian Parliament - and, inside, the famous Palatine Chapel of 1130.

Head to the Fontana Pretoria, popularly known as the Fountain of Shame, and visit the church of Santa Caterina d'Alessandria, with its cloister, another splendid example of Baroque art. Finally, enjoy a small tasting of typical Sicilian dishes.
In the afternoon, departure towards Monreale, the wonderful Arab-Norman village built around the Cathedral of Santa Maria Nuova, declared by Unesco "World Heritage Site". The Cathedral of Monreale is known worldwide for its mosaics, which form a total area of over 6,000 square meters, which includes over 130 Byzantine mosaics.



Etna and Taormina

Starting from the resort, we take the highway to Catania and then a panoramic road that climbs along the slopes of the volcano, until reaching about 1,900m, where you can walk along the area of the Monti Silvestri, visiting the two huge craters extinguished, formed after the eruption of 1892 and where the traces of recent lava flows are visible.
You will have free time to climb up to about 2,800m, walkable or, for a surcharge, by cable car or off-road.
We stop for lunch in a restaurant and, later, departure towards the beautiful Taormina: a famous Sicilian tourist resort, known for its beauty.
Paying a supplement, you can discover the most important ancient monument of Taormina, the Greek-Roman Theatre and then you will have free time to walk along the typical streets and buy typical Sicilian products!

During the visit, you can admire a thousand-year-old tree (1200 years) and the latomie, limestone quarries, used for the construction of the temples of Selinunte.
Upon arrival at the Frantoio it will be possible to attend the demonstration on the olive harvest and oil production system and taste the typical Sicilian products, including bruschetta with organic oil produced by this ancient family.

We will set out to discover the Arabian Mazara del Vallo, located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, less than 200 km from the Tunisian coasts of North Africa. The visit will begin in Piazza della Repubblica, where we will visit the Cathedral of the Holy Saviour built in the Norman period and modified over the centuries with a great Baroque imprint, of which it preserves the most important testimonies like the sculptures of the Gagini and the Marabitti. We will have an authentic meeting with the cloistered nuns of the Convent of San Michele, to discover the famous tradition of pastry of the Benedictine nuns, we can "like once" taste the "muccunetti", typical sweets with Sicilian candied pumpkin and served with the ancient iron wheel. We will continue exploring the small streets of the center to discover the Kasbah in the Tunisian district, an Arab-style path that will accompany you to the famous Blue Door. You can not miss the meeting of oriental traits, among scents of spices, streets colored by symbols of the Islamic religion and the small mosque with the imam, with a small tasting where the tradition of Cous Cous will be explained.
